The CSHL is going down hill
« Thread Started on Mar 18, 2009, 11:23am »

It seems that the CSHL has gone down hill since last year but there still are some good teams in it like Toledo Dubuque St.Louis and Peoria. but some teams need to just stop it already like Grand Rapids Metro And even Quad City.

First they are pricing themselves out of business. To buy a franchise they are asking $50k to 70k....for that league??? Teams that have been in for the long haul got in for next to nothing.....the wallowing franchises will have a hard time recouping anything at that price....not an attractive business venture for someone wanting into a Junior "A" league!!

Yo Fangs...NOTHING to do with the UJHL. The question was asked if the CSHL is going "downhill". Talent wise...I would have nothing to compare it to, except last season. I caught about 4 CSHL games this year and I was not impressed by the overall depth. I saw a Cincy game where the lines seemed pretty much equal throughout though Having come from New England not long ago, I just don't think they are that caliber YET. Downhill from last year??? Maybe. I think the question though may stem from the fact that there are more non-competitive teams in the CSHL now!!!!

I think all of the leagues have suffered somewhat in the past several years. Especially with the dilution of T3A.

I agree the league has many different levels of teams from top to bottom. But the worsted part about it is the fact that some teams charge a outrages amount of money to pay to play for them in this so called jr."A" league witch it inst but for 4 or 5 teams. Like for some bottom end teams Charging $6500 WOW!! you got to be joking me. And you know all of that money is going to the owners and coaches. I even heard that some coaches of bad teams were getting paid around $30 000 to coach thats just a joke for some of these teams. These coaches do not deserve that at all. I've refereed and l did lines in a lot of these game out in the western part of the league. And there are some good coaches like in Dubuque Peoria and Chicago. But there is know place where it shows that the money is just going to the coach then Quad city. First off all he has done in the games that i have done is yell at his kids and doesn't even teach them anything and just benches them. and just keeps playing the same bad kids over and over again. Know wonder they never get better. Also he has no assistant coaches and he is the GM. So wheres all the money going there. That guy i forget his name but hes the reason know one likes doing games in Qaud City. And thats where all the money is goin.

HAHAHAHAHA . i would bet money the ujhl could probably kill teams like motor city and grand rapids. When i played in that league when i was 15 it was nothing but a bunch of 20 year olds who drank smoked weed and lived off daddys and mommys money. the cshl is terrible but not as bad as the ijhl. At least ushl scouts come to the quad city showcase in december in the cshl.
